1. Who is responsible for the data

Surrogacy Guru is operated by Erez Baron, who is the controller of the personal information collected on it.

This policy describes what personal information the Site collects, for what purpose, how long it is kept, and what rights you have in relation to it.

2. Guiding principle

The Site requires no registration in order to read it, builds no user profile, sells no data, and passes no data to third parties for marketing purposes.

The only information collected is information you choose to give, and only as much of it as is needed to provide what you asked for.

3. What is collected

When subscribing to the mailing list:

  • Name and email address, as you provided them
  • Interface language and the page you subscribed from, so that content is sent in the right language
  • IP address and browser identifier at the time of subscription, kept as evidence of your consent to receive mail, as required by law
  • The time of subscription and of its confirmation

When using the contact form or writing by email:

  • Name, email address and the content of your message. These are delivered to the Operator's mailbox and are not stored in the Site's database.

When using the interactive tools:

  • Nothing is collected. What you enter stays in your own browser and is never sent to the server.

When liking an article:

  • Only a cumulative counter per article is stored, with no identifying details whatsoever.

4. Cookies

The Site uses a single functional cookie, which remembers your language choice so that you need not select it on every visit.

There are no advertising cookies, no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics on this Site.

5. Basis and purpose

Providing your details is not a legal obligation and is entirely your choice. They are needed only for the purpose for which they were given: to send you updates if you asked for them, or to answer your message.

If you do not provide them: we will not be able to send you updates or reply to you. Everything else on the Site remains fully open to you, without restriction.

6. Double opt-in and unsubscribing

A subscription is completed only after you confirm it through a link sent to the address you gave. An unconfirmed address receives no mail.

Every message carries an unsubscribe link at its foot, which works immediately and requires no request and no explanation.

7. Where the data is held

Data is held with Supabase, on servers located in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union). The Site is hosted with Vercel.

Email is sent through ZeptoMail, a Zoho service, and your name and email address are passed to it for that purpose. These providers act as processors and may not use the data for their own purposes.

8. Retention

  • Subscriber details are kept for as long as the subscription is active
  • After unsubscribing, the details of the unsubscribe are kept only for a reasonable period, to prevent mail being sent again by mistake
  • An address that was entered but never confirmed is deleted after a short period
  • Email correspondence is kept in the mailbox for as long as it is needed to continue the exchange

9. Your rights

Under the Privacy Protection Law, 1981, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access — to know what personal information about you is held
  • Right of correction — to require that information which is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate be corrected
  • Right of deletion — to ask that the information be deleted
  • Unsubscribe — at any time, through the link at the foot of any message or by writing directly

To exercise any of these, write to erez@surrogacy.guru. I will respond as soon as I can, and in any event within the period prescribed by law.

If you are located in the European Union, you may have further rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to object to processing.

10. Security

Access to the data is limited to the Operator. Transmission between browser and server is encrypted, and access to the database is protected by permissions and access controls.

That said, no online system offers absolute security. Should a security incident occur that requires it, notice will be given in accordance with the law.

11. Minors

The Site is intended for adults. Personal details of minors should not be submitted through it.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated. An updated version will be published on this page and the date at the top amended accordingly.
